St. Thomas Aquinas Cavalier Basketball
The cavalier basketball team offers a junior varsity and a varsity level in the M&O conference. This is a great program for those who enjoy playing sports as well as being a leader. There are a lot of opportunities for students to become part of a competitive sports team and to learn from one another.

Boys Varsity Basketball Coach- Eric Powers
This is Coach Power’s 7th year as head varsity basketball coach at Saint Thomas Aquinas; Eric Powers will be entering his 16th year in coaching overall. Eric previously spent three years coaching the junior varsity at CCHS and a total of six years coaching junior high basketball at both Menominee Catholic Central and Peshtigo. He also coached little league baseball, girls high school tennis and assisted in boys high school basketball. Coach Powers are a 1977 graduate of Catholic Central high school where he lettered in basketball, football and tennis, then went to play college basketball and tennis. As a freshman at Central his team went 17-0 and finished 2nd at state his senior year. Eric holds a BS in Math/Physics from Eau Claire, a BVS in computer science from Oshkosh, and an MBA from Lake Superior State. Coach Powers reside in Marinette with his two children Eric 8, and Alex 4.
Boys/Girls Golf Coach & JV Basketball Coach – Budde Fifarek
Budde Fifarek is the Assistant JV Basketball and Golf coach for St. Thomas Aquinas Academy. Mr. Fifarek was born in Marinette and is a 1972 graduate of Marinette Catholic Central. He attended and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors from St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI majoring in business and education. He is currently the District Manger of Bay Title & Abstract, Inc with his home base being Marinette. He has been a successful golfer on the high school, college and post collegiate levels. Being fortunate enough to have won several tournaments in all levels. He has had the opportunity to coach successful basketball and golf teams on all levels. Budde, his wife, Jennifer and son Joey reside in Marinette.
