Catholic Central High School Foundation
The Marinette Catholic Central High School Foundation, Inc. was founded in February 1976. The Foundation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to Saint Thomas Aquinas Academy. The goal of its financial investment program is to provide continuing and growing resources for such purposes without depleting the corpus. The affairs of the Foundation are managed by a volunteer Board of Directors including ex officio directors such as the Bishop of the Green Bay Diocese, the President of Saint Thomas Aquinas Academy, and the President of the Board of Trustees of the school.
Due to economic necessity, the Foundation building on Water Street was closed. The building is now used for storage. The old windows were drafty and the building was too costly to heat for office space. The roof has been patched and all documents, pictures, yearbooks, newsletters, and memorabilia have been organized into clear plastic bins in a separate room. A Foundation committee has worked to organize and preserve school history as best as possible. All operating expenses have been sliced to the bare minimum and all work is done by volunteers. The Foundation maintains a small office upstairs in the gym. Calls/inquiries and emails are welcome and are being taken by the President at the phone number and email address listed below. Tours of the school are being given with surprised comments at how great “the old school” looks for being the oldest high school in the state of Wisconsin!
